Payment for work on a public holiday
Payment for work on a public holiday (a) Full-time and part-time employees will be paid at the rate of 250% of the appropriate Ordinary Hourly Rate for the employee’s classification for all ordinary hours worked on a public holiday. (b) Casual employees will be paid at the rate of 200% of the appropriate Casual Hourly Rate for the employee’s classification for all ordinary hours worked on a public holiday.
Payment for work on a public holiday 15.7.1 Double time and a half shall be the special rate for all work done on a Public Holiday but if any other day be by Act of Parliament or Proclamation substituted for any of the above-mentioned holidays, the special rate shall only be payable for work done on the days so substituted. 15.7.2 Casual employees who are required to work on a public holiday shall be paid at the relevant holiday rate but not the ordinary casual loading.
Payment for work on a public holiday shall be in terms of the Public Holidays Act, 1994 as amended from time to time.
