Personal Freedoms. The personal life of any teacher is not within the appropriate concern of the BOARD, except if it is detrimental to the school program. Any BOARD or administration initiated action in this regard shall be brought first to the attention of the ASSOCIATION, except in instances where the nature of the offense requires an immediate response. Teachers shall take adequate precautions to distinguish between their personal, political views and those of the district and shall not use instructional privileges for private gain or to promote personal, political or religious activities.

Personal Freedoms. Employees shall be entitled to full rights of citizenship, and no religious or political activities of any employee or the lack thereof shall be grounds for any discipline or discrimination with respect to the professional employment of such teacher, providing said activities do not violate any local, state or federal law, or rules or regulations of the State or local Board of Education, and so long as the activities do not interfere with the-proper exercise of the teaching duties and responsibilities of the teacher.

  • Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness.
