Personal Necessity Leave 13.2.1 A maximum of seven (7) days of sick leave may be used by an employee in any school year for personal necessity, for the following purposes:
Personal Necessity 1.1 Unit members may use a maximum of seven (7) days of accumulated sick leave for personal necessity. Personal Necessity Leave shall be limited to circumstances that are serious in nature and that the employee cannot reasonably be expected to disregard, that necessitate immediate attention and cannot be taken care of after work hours or on weekends.
Payment of Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave (a) If an employee takes a period of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave and meets the notice requirements set out at Clause 44.3 the employer must pay the employee at the employee’s base rate of pay for the employee’s ordinary hours of work in the period.
PRIVATE BUSINESS/GENERAL/PERSONAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE 12.1 Teachers shall be allowed personal leave up to and including five (5) days in any one school year with the loss of substitutes’ pay only, and shall be deducted full salary for days absent for personal reasons in excess of five
Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.
Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.
Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
Personal Leave With Pay With prior notification, full-time employees who are eligible to accrue sick leave may use a maximum of six (6) days personal leave with pay per year, provided that such days shall be charged against the employee’s current accrued sick leave. This leave is non-cumulative.
Academic Leave Subject to the recommendation of the President/Superintendent and to approval of the Board of Trustees, academic leave may be granted to full-time tenured faculty members for the purpose of academic study or work experience related to their area of instruction for a period of one or two semesters. Individuals granted this type of leave will not receive salary from the District during the period they are on academic leave. Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.
