Personal or Family Emergency. Personal Necessity Leave may be taken for the following reasons. And when possible, such employee shall file a written request at least one (1) week in advance with the Superintendent or his/her designee, who shall notify whether or not such request is approved:

Personal or Family Emergency. Documentation such as a written explanation willbe required. If an employee is in a no-pay status (i.e., on a leave of absence without pay either because the sick leave for which the employee is eligible has been exhausted or because the employee is on a Governing Board- approved leave of absence without pay) on both the last day prior to and the first day immediately following a holiday or a Governing Board-declared recess period as identified in the Governing Board approved school calendar for the year, that employee shall receive no compensation for the holiday or the Governing Board-declared recess period. Governing Board-declared holidays and recess periods shall be defined as: • Independence Day / July 4thLabor DayFall Break • Veteran’s Day • Thanksgiving Recess • Winter BreakXxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xx. Day • Presidents’ Day • Spring Break • Xxxxx Xxxxxx Day • Memorial Day • Juneteenth Employees should refer to the current Governing Board approved calendar for the specific dates of each holiday as well as the specific dates for workdays that precede or immediately follow the aforementioned holidays and recess periods. For specific dates regarding State mandated testing, employees should refer to the District website. The addition or deletion of Governing Board-declared holidays is done at the discretion of the Governing Board. This absence policy will be reviewed on an annual basis.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. An educator will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations beyond the control of the educator which would significantly impair teaching service. Personal emergency leave may not be used for illness or injury, or illness or injury in the immediate family. Deductions from the gross pay of an educator for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken. 2. An educator may be granted up to five (5) days leave without pay for business or personal reasons having unusual circumstances.

  • Death, Incompetency, or Bankruptcy of Member On the death, adjudicated incompetence, or bankruptcy of a Member, unless the Company exercises its rights under Section 8.5, the successor in interest to the Member (whether an estate, bankruptcy trustee, or otherwise) will receive only the economic right to receive distributions whenever made by the Company and the Member's allocable share of taxable income, gain, loss, deduction, and credit (the "Economic Rights") unless and until a majority of the other Members determined on a per capita basis admit the transferee as a fully substituted Member in accordance with the provisions of Section 8.3. 8.4.1 Any transfer of Economic Rights pursuant to Section 8.4 will not include any right to participate in management of the Company, including any right to vote, consent to, and will not include any right to information on the Company or its operations or financial condition. Following any transfer of only the Economic Rights of a Member's Interest in the Company, the transferring Member's power and right to vote or consent to any matter submitted to the Members will be eliminated, and the Ownership Interests of the remaining Members, for purposes only of such votes, consents, and participation in management, will be proportionately increased until such time, if any, as the transferee of the Economic Rights becomes a fully substituted Member.

  • Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness. The employee may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a qualified physician as evidence of illness or physical disability in order to qualify for paid sick leave as per District practice. Accumulated sick leave may also be granted for such time as is actually necessary for office visits to a doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.

  • Personal Harassment Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome. Harassment can be either psychological or physical or it can be a combination of both. It is any behaviour, whether deliberate or negligent, which denies individuals their dignity and respect, is offensive, embarrassing or humiliating to the individual and adversely affects the working environment.

  • Restricted Employment for Certain State Personnel Contractor acknowledges that, pursuant to Section 572.069 of the Texas Government Code, a former state officer or employee of a state agency who during the period of state service or employment participated on behalf of a state agency in a procurement or contract negotiation involving Contractor may not accept employment from Contractor before the second anniversary of the date the Contract is signed or the procurement is terminated or withdrawn.

  • Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his/her leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability, which shall include, in part, all disabilities caused or contributed to by pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion, childbirth, and recovery.

  • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. An employee shall be allowed to take such leave within a four week period. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Entitlement to leave of absence under this subsection shall be only for all hours the employee would have been scheduled to work for those days granted, and shall be in addition to any other entitlement for sick leave, emergency leave, or any other leave.
