Personal Illness Employees may use accumulated sick leave for hours off due to personal illness. The employee may be required to furnish a medical certificate from a qualified physician as evidence of illness or physical disability in order to qualify for paid sick leave as per District practice. Accumulated sick leave may also be granted for such time as is actually necessary for office visits to a doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.
Personal Reasons An employee will be allowed a thirty (30) day leave of absence without pay for personal reasons, if:
Government and Service Employees' Union The leave shall be for a period of three years and shall be renewed upon request.
Personal Harassment (a) The Employer and the Union recognize the right of employees to work in an environment free from personal harassment and agree that employees who engage in personal harassment may be disciplined.
Personal Research Subject to approval by the Employer an employee may use facilities normally used in the course of his/her duties to carry out personal research or projects. The cost of materials shall be borne by the employee. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Leave for Personal Reasons (a) An employee may be allowed a leave of absence without pay for up to thirty (30) days for personal reasons if:
Personal Illness or Disability The bargaining unit member may use all or any portion of his leave to recover from his/her own illness or disability.
EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION BY CONTRACTOR PROHIBITED During the performance of this Contract, the Contractor agrees as follows:
Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance by delivering the same in writing to the President of the Local Union and the President shall answer such grievance in writing within five working (5) days. If the answer is not acceptable to the Employer, the Employer may, within ten (10) working days from the day the President gives her answer, give ten (10) working days notice to the President of the Local Union of its intention to refer the dispute to arbitration.
Sexual and Personal Harassment The Employer shall provide and the Union and Employees shall support a workplace free from personal or sexual harassment and any other harassment based on the protected characteristics set out in Article 2.04. The Employer shall maintain a policy on workplace harassment.
