Leave for Personal Reasons. An employee may be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority when she requests such leave for good and sufficient cause. Such requests shall be in writing and approved by the Employer. In an emergency, application may be made by telephone or in person. Permission for such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Leave for Personal Reasons a) An employee may be allowed a leave of absence without pay for up to thirty (30) days for personal reasons if:
Leave for Personal Reasons. Personal leaves of absence without pay will not be unreasonably withheld. Such leave will be granted only as the needs of service allow. This provision is not to be construed as a right to such leave or that such leave may be repeated each year and granting of such leaves is subject to the Personal Leave of Absence Policy approved by the Employer and as amended from time to time. Applications for personal leaves of absence are to be made in writing, setting forth the reasons for such leave, to the employee’s Branch/Department Manager. A decision in writing granting the leave or denying the leave with reasons shall be given within fifteen (15) working days of receipt of the request by the employee's Branch/Department Manager.
Leave for Personal Reasons. (Short-Term) Each member of the bargaining unit shall be allowed six (6) days of paid leave for personal reasons each year to be charged against accrued sick leave and provided that such leave shall be non-cumulative. Except in emergency situations, employees shall request leave for personal reasons forty-eight (48) hours in advance of such leave.

(ii) the Company believes the leave is for a good reason and does not interfere with the Company's operations.
(b) A leave of absence may be extended up to thirty (30) calendar days if there is a good reason and the Company and the Union committee agree to it. The employee must request the extension in writing before his first leave period has terminated.
(c) The Union will be notified of all leaves granted under this Section.

Effective July 1, 2006, a member of the bargaining unit shall be allowed six (6) days paid leave for personal reasons each fiscal year to be charged against accrued sick leave, and provided that such leave, shall be noncumulative. Except in emergency situations, employees shall request leave for personal reasons at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of such leave. Except for the religious observance of the employee’s faith, personal leave requests shall not be made for any day immediately preceding or following a holiday; during the first or last week of the school year when students are in attendance; and/or the day immediately before or after the Thanksgiving break, the Winter break and/or the Spring break. Request for personal leave may be denied if in the judgment of the Superintendent such leave will disrupt the school or department program. Employees are not required to provide his/her supervisor with the reason for requesting personal leave.
Leave for Personal Reasons. Leave of absence without pay for legitimate personal reasons may, at the discretion of Management, be granted without loss of seniority. Applications of more than one day shall be made in writing. Should an Employee require a leave of more than one day and due to unusual circumstances, not have time to request it in writing, he shall complete the leave of absence form on his return. Leave of absence requests and answers will be handled in a timely manner.
Leave for Personal Reasons. Leaves of absence without pay for relatively short periods (three consecutive workdays or more) may be granted to employees for personal reasons and seniority shall accumulate during such leaves.
Leave for Personal Reasons. (1) When teachers are required to be absent for personal reasons, they shall be granted up to two (2) complete days or four (4) half-days per school year, taken individually, collectively, or in combination, without loss of pay, but subject to deduction from sick leave credit.
(2) Personal leave days shall not be taken the school day immediately preceding and/or immediately following a holiday, or a vacation period, unless the leave is approved by the Director of Education, or designate.
(3) Teachers shall notify their Principal or their immediate supervisor where they are not employed in a school, of their taking a personal leave.
