Common use of Personal Use Time Clause in Contracts

Personal Use Time. An employee may be permitted to utilize up to a maximum of ten (10) hours of sick leave as a personal use time during any calendar year, provided that the employee shall obtain the permission of the Department Head before utilizing said leave. Permission for utilization of personal use time shall not be unreasonably withheld. However, the Department Head may withhold permission to take personal use time based upon operational, staffing and service needs. Should a Department Head refuse to grant time off for personal use time, the Department Head and the employee shall reschedule personal use time as soon thereafter as practicable based upon the operational, staffing and service needs of the department.
