Common use of PERSONNEL REDUCTION Clause in Contracts

PERSONNEL REDUCTION. In case of layoff or rehiring, employees with the longest seniority shall be laid off last and rehired first. If an employee is laid off, the employee shall retain seniority for twelve (12) months from date of layoff. Any Command or Supervisory Personnel who return to the rank of Patrol Officer as a result of personnel reduction shall have seniority determined by the length of full time service in the South Portland Police Department.
