Common use of PERSONNEL REDUCTION Clause in Contracts

PERSONNEL REDUCTION. Section 1: In the case of personnel reduction, the employee with the least amount of Fire Dept. seniority shall be laid off first. No new employee shall be hired until the laid off employee has been given the opportunity to return to work. a) Employee laid off must maintain his current mailing address with the Fire Chief. b) Employee laid off must be given the opportunity to return to work and must reply within thirty (30) days after receipt of certified mail. c) In order to maintain his/her recall rights, a laid-off employee must maintain their licenses, which he/she held when laid-off. As allowed by law, the City will continue to be a sponsoring agency to allow these employees to receive training in order to maintain their licenses.
