Placement/Assignment/Layoff and Recall. 9.1 It is the Board's intent to create the largest teaching blocks possible, based upon the classes and programs being offered. The following procedures will be used in placing Adult and Community Education teachers into their assignments. a. Insofar as possible, School Based, Shared Time and Career/Technical classes in each subject matter area will be combined into blocks of 20-28 hours per week. Evening programs may continue to block classes on Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday. The blocking of sections shall recognize subject area, certification, time, and location. The remaining class hours will remain as singletons. b. Insofar as possible, Preschool teaching hours, exclusive of teaching time, shall be: Head Start 26 Hours per week Kids Plus 20 Hours per week SPARKEY 20 Hours per week Preschool programs desiring a change from this format must request a Contract Deviation. 9.2 The District will place teachers into Preschool, School Based, Career/Technical, Summer Career/Technical Education, Elementary and Secondary Summer School, and Driver Education program positions by using the second semester Adult and Community Education seniority lists appropriate to them. Each teacher will be assigned in accordance with the following priority: 1) Career/Technical Center Placement: a) Current shift(s); if not available, then, b) Another assignment in Career/Technical with equal hours; if not available, then, c) Current assignment with reduced hours; if not available, then, d) Another assignment in Career/Technical with reduced hours; if not available, then, e) Placement into another assignment in Adult and Community Education for which certified; if not available, then, f) If no vacancy remains for which the teacher is certified, s/he will be laid off. 2) Adult and Community Education School Based Program: a) Current schedule; if not available, then, b) Another assignment in the Adult and Community Education School Based Program with equal hours; if not available, then, c) Another assignment in the Program with reduced hours in the current subject area; if not available, then, d) Another assignment in the Program with reduced hours in another subject area; if not available, then, e) Placement into an assignment in another Adult and Community Education program for which certified; if not available, then, f) If no vacancy remains for which the teacher is certified, s/he will be laid off. 3) Preschool: Head Start, Kids Plus, SPARKEY: a) Current assignment; if not...

  • SUBCONTRACTS - ASSIGNMENT Contractor shall not subcontract or assign this Agreement, or any part thereof, or interest therein, directly or indirectly, voluntarily or involuntarily, to any person without obtaining the prior written consent by County. Contractor remains legally responsible for the performance of all contract terms including work performed by third parties under subcontracts. Any subcontracting will be subject to all applicable provisions of this Agreement. Contractor shall be held responsible by County for the performance of any subcontractor whether approved by County or not. Contractor hereby assigns to the County all rights, title, and interest in and to all causes of action it may have under Section 4 of the Xxxxxxx Act (15 U.S.C. Sec. 15) or under the Xxxxxxxxxx Act (Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 16700) of Part 2 of Division 7 of the Business and Professions Code), arising from the purchase if goods, materials, or services by the Contractor for sale to the County pursuant to this Agreement.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Assignment of Contract A. Unless expressly agreed to elsewhere in the Contract, no assignment by a party hereto of any rights under or interests in the Contract will be binding on another party hereto without the written consent of the party sought to be bound; and, specifically but without limitation, money that may become due and money that is due may not be assigned without such consent (except to the extent that the effect of this restriction may be limited by law), and unless specifically stated to the contrary in any written consent to an assignment, no assignment will release or discharge the assignor from any duty or responsibility under the Contract Documents.
