Teaching TimeThe daily teaching time, which excludes preparation periods, student passing and student break time required of a regular classroom teacher shall be as indicated below or such greater minutes as may be specified in the Education Code in order to qualify for full funding. Full day TK / K starts on the first school day of the fourth (4th) week of school. This date is to be placed on the District calendar. 9.8.2 Additional minutes may be required with the mutual agreement of the unit member and site administrator and mutual consent of the District and the Federation. 9.8.3 Teachers shall be required to sign out if they leave before the end of their minimum duty hours.

Teaching Time. (i) Effective September 1, 2004, Teachers in an elementary school shall not be assigned teaching duties in excess of thirteen hundred twenty-five (1325) minutes per week. (ii) Effective September 1, 2006, Teachers in an elementary school shall not be assigned teaching duties in excess of thirteen hundred and twenty (1320) minutes per week. (iii) Effective September 1, 2007, Teachers in an elementary school shall not be assigned teaching duties in excess of thirteen hundred and ten (1310) minutes per week. (iv) Effective June 30, 2008, Teachers in an elementary school shall not be assigned teaching duties in excess of thirteen hundred (1300) minutes per week. (v) Teachers assigned to both elementary and secondary schools shall not be assigned teaching duties in excess of the time which corresponds to the percentage of the assignment in each panel. (vi) Teaching time shall be prorated for part-time Teachers, recognizing that for the purposes of this calculation, mornings and afternoons are considered to be of equivalent length.

Teaching Time. Shared time teachers will be allowed to share teaching time. One teacher will teach the 1st semester and the other teacher will teach the 2nd semester. These shared time teachers shall be considered on leave without pay for the semester not worked. It is understood that these teachers are under continuing contract and are not eligible for unemployment compensation. These shared time teachers will receive one (1) year of experience credit for every two (2) semesters actually worked.
