Reduced Hours. 1. A full time employee(s) whose regularly scheduled daily/weekly working hours have been reduced shall have the following bumping rights:
a. With reference to his presently assigned job classification: He may displace the full time employee with the least classification seniority, or, if this least senior employee's position is for fewer scheduled hours than his former position, he may displace that employee with the least classification seniority holding a position for which the scheduled hours are equal to those of his former position. In the event there is no such position equal in hours held by a less senior employee, he may displace a junior employee holding the position nearest (but less than) the scheduled hours of his former position which junior employee shall be the least senior employee assigned such hours or exercise the bumping rights enumerated in subsection 1-b of this section.
b. With reference to his presently assigned job category:
1) He may exercise his higher classification seniority which he holds within his present job category to displace the employee with the least classification seniority within this higher job classification(s).
2) He may exercise his category seniority to displace the employee with the least category seniority in any of the lower job classification(s) within his job category, or, if this least senior employee's position is for fewer scheduled hours than his former position, he may displace that employee with the least category seniority in any of the lower job classification(s) within his job category holding a position for which the scheduled hours are equal to those of his former position. In the event there is no such position equal in hours held by a less senior employee, he may displace a junior employee in any of the lower job classification(s) within his job category holding a position nearest (but less than) the scheduled hours of his former position which junior employee shall be the least senior employee assigned such hours. In the event an employee elects this option, his applicable category seniority which he holds at that time shall be counted toward the classification seniority which he accumulates in the lower job classification.
2. If the bumped full time employee or employee whose hours have been reduced or bumped selects any of the bumping rights enumerated in this section, the employee must fill any open position in the applicable job classification and/or category, if one exists, rather than ...
Reduced Hours. If possible, the Human Resources Department shall notify the Association of all reductions in normal work hours prior to Assistants being notified, even where such reductions do not constitute a layoff. At the request of the Association, a Special Conference shall occur to discuss such reductions. Affected Assistants shall be given at least seven (7) calendar days' written notice prior to a reduction in their hours taking effect. Seniority shall be one of the factors considered prior to reduction of hours being determined.
Reduced Hours. Where, for reasons pertaining to the pregnancy, an employee on medical advice and with the consent of the employer, elects to work reduced hours at any time prior to confinement, then the guaranteed proportion of full-time employment after parental leave shall be the same as that immediately prior to such enforced reduction in hours.
Reduced Hours. Full-time employees reduced to less than twenty-five (25) hours at straight time for more than two (2) consecutive weeks shall be given the choice, in writing, of going on part-time status or being laid off for lack of work and shall be given preference over all part-time employees for full-time work when it becomes available. See Article 22, sub-Article 22.06
Reduced Hours. Reduced hours will be allowed for Employees on restricted duty as a result of illness or pregnancy upon written notice from a qualified doctor. Employees with reduced hours may opt to receive sick pay or LWOP hours for scheduled hours affected. Employees on restricted duty must be able to work a minimum of one half of their regular scheduled shift. Hours worked on restricted duty must be during an Employee’s regularly scheduled shift.
Reduced Hours a) The employer cannot add more employees on a contract and reduce the hours of the employees already in places unless such changes are related to contractual or operational obligations to which the union has been informed of beforehand.
b) The employer cannot reduce work hours in a contract to compensate wage increase and the burden of proof is the employer’s responsibility.
c) At the request of the union, the latter is informed of the reasons of this reduction and the employer shall provide relevant data in his possession.
d) Should there be a reduction of the hours in a contract, with or without changes to the group of hours, the employee with the least seniority per classification and per work shift shall be affected, taking into account the distribution of the work week.
e) The layoff procedure provided in article 18 applies to any hour reduction of the group hours of a contract, except for a position where the group of hours is modified because of the seasonal activities and for which the employee was informed of by writing at the moment the position was granted to him in accordance with parahgraph 15.01 or of his choice to accept the maximisation of hours in accordance with article 20.07. The layoff procedure provided under article 18 is applicable to any reduction of group hours on a contract.
f) The employee has the choice of applying the layoff procedure, exercise his right to bump, or accept the reduction of hours.
g) Should there be a new position created under subsection 18.01 f), this position is first fulfilled in accordance with the provisions or article 20.07 or otherwise, article 15.
