Pool Nurse Unpaid Leave. Upon request, Pool nurses will be provided unpaid time off as follows: • Up to four (4) calendar days following the death of a colleague’s spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepchild, or legal guardian. • Up to two (2) calendar days following the death of a colleague’s current mother-in-law or current father-in-law, grandparent, or grandchild. • Up to one (1) calendar day following a colleague’s current brother-in-law, current sister-in-law, current son-in-law, and current daughter-in-law. • Nurses are expected to provide notice of the need for time off as soon as possible. Nurses on approved Bereavement leave will not be subject to any penalty under the Time and Attendance Policy.

  • Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Other Unpaid Leaves 1. The Board will grant an unpaid leave for a period of up to one (1) year to a teacher for illness or disability, eldercare, extended or family illness. The teacher may request that his/her teaching position be reduced to a part-time position with the School Corporation during this leave. Upon the teacher’s return from said leave, the School Corporation will follow the guidelines set forth under A.5. above.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Unpaid Leaves Employees on unpaid leaves may not participate in the matching program while on leave.

  • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

  • CONTRIBUTIONS WHILE ON UNPAID LEAVE As set forth in Administrative Code section 16.701(b), covered employees who are not in active service for more than twelve (12) weeks, shall be required to pay the Health Service System for the full premium cost of membership in the Health Service System, unless the employee shall be on sick leave, workers’ compensation, mandatory administrative leave, approved personal leave following family care leave, disciplinary suspensions or on a layoff holdover list where the employee verifies they have no alternative coverage.
