Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate. The Architect shall prepare and deliver to the District a Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate for the Project as depicted in the Final Schematic Design Documents. If the Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate exceeds the District’s Project Construction Budget, the Architect shall consult with the District and revise the Schematic Design Documents as necessary so that the Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate for the Work depicted in the Final Schematic Design Documents is consistent with the Project Construction Budget. Revisions of the Schematic Design Documents to conform with the Project Construction Budget shall be without adjustment to the Contract Price unless the District shall have directed modifications to, or inclusions in, the scope of the Project or component parts thereof which cause the Project Construction Budget to be exceeded.
Preliminary Construction Cost Estimate. The Engineer shall attend up to eight (8) days of additional workshops with the State. The purpose of these workshops is to investigate project issues including revisions to the roadway design, drainage, Traffic Control Plans, design constraints and ROW. The Engineer shall prepare roll plot exhibits as needed for the workshops. The Engineer shall provide up to three (3) participants at the workshops.   • Construction Costs Under no circumstances shall the Consultant be liable for extra costs or other consequences due to unknown conditions or related to the failure of contractors to perform work in accordance with the plans and specifications. Consultant shall have no liability whatsoever for any costs arising out of the Client’s decision to obtain bids or proceed with construction before the Consultant has issued final, fully-approved plans and specifications. The Client acknowledges that all preliminary plans are subject to substantial revision until plans are fully approved and all permits obtained.
