PROBATIONARY AND QUALIFYING PERIOD. Employees may be engaged for an initial probationary period of up to and including ninety (90) working days or shifts, being days or shifts that the Employee actually works. Time spent as a probationary Employee will count as time worked for the purposes of accruing any entitlement under this Agreement. During the probationary period, an Employee’s employment may be terminated instantaneously by either Teys Bros or the Employee giving notice, such notice being effective at the end of any day or shift. If Teys Bros gives notice during a day or shift, then, irrespective of whether Teys Bros requires the Employee to finish working rostered hours for that day or shift, the Employee is entitled to be paid for the whole of that rostered day or shift. The parties agree that any Employee’s “qualifying period of employment” for the purposes of Part 12 of the Act is ninety (90) working days or shifts, being working days or shifts on which the Employee actually works.

  • Definition of Holiday Pay and Qualifiers (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) Holiday pay will be computed on the basis of the employee's regular straight time hourly rate of pay times the employee's normal daily hours of work. In order to qualify for holiday pay for any holiday, as set out in the Local Provisions Appendix, or to qualify for a lieu day an employee must complete her scheduled shift on each of the working days immediately prior to and following the holiday except where absence on one or both of the said qualifying days is due to a satisfactory reason. An employee who was scheduled to work on a holiday, as set out in the Local Provisions Appendix, and is absent shall not be entitled to holiday pay or to a lieu day to which she would otherwise be entitled unless such absence was due to a satisfactory reason. An employee who qualifies to receive pay for any holiday or a lieu day will not be entitled, in the event of illness, to receive sick pay in addition to holiday pay or a lieu day in respect of the same day.

  • Non-Qualifying Operations 1. A good shall not be considered to be an originating good merely by reason of:

  • VESTED RETIREMENT GRATUITY VOLUNTARY EARLY PAYOUT a) An Employee eligible for a Sick Leave Credit retirement gratuity as per Appendix A shall have the option of receiving a payout of his/her gratuity on August 31, 2016, or on the employee’s normal retirement date.

  • Hire Period The Hire Period shall commence from the time stated in the order confirmation unless the Equipment is collected by the Hirer, in which case the Hire Period shall commence when the Equipment leaves our premises. The Hire Period shall terminate when the goods are received back at our premises.

  • Re-employment After Voluntary Termination or Dismissal for Cause Where an employee voluntarily leaves the Employer's service, or is dismissed for cause and is later re-engaged, seniority and all perquisites shall date only from the time of re-employment, according to regulations applying to new employees.

  • Re-employment After Retirement Employees who have reached retirement age as prescribed under the Pension (Municipal) Act and continue in the Employer's service, or are re-engaged within three (3) calendar months of retirement, shall continue at their former increment step in the pay rate structure of the classification in which they are employed, and the employee's previous anniversary date shall be maintained. All perquisites earned up to the date of retirement shall be continued or reinstated.

  • Unbroken Vacation Period An Employee shall receive an unbroken period of vacation unless mutually agreed upon between the Employee and the Employer.
