Rostered Day. Off Falling on Public Holiday
(a) Except as provided for in 7.5.4(b), where a full-time employee's ordinary hours of work are structured to include a day off and such day off falls on a public holiday, the employee is entitled to, at the discretion of the employer, either:
Rostered Day. Off (RDO) The following conditions shall apply in respect of RDO’s taken in accordance with the nine (9) day fortnight:
15.5.1 Where an Employee is sick or suffers personal injury on an RDO, no reinstatement of RDO time will occur.
15.5.2 Employees will be required to take the RDO on the scheduled day.
15.5.3 If, due to operational requirements, the Manager Assets & Engineering Services (or his nominee) may request that an Employee work on his/her RDO, the substitute day to be taken off will be agreed at the time when the request for xxxxxxxx is made.
15.5.4 The substitute day shall be agreed to be taken within four (4) weeks of the deferred RDO, providing however that by specific agreement between the Manager Assets & Engineering Services and the Employee, the RDO may be banked up to five (5) days.
15.5.5 In normal circumstances, a minimum of 48 hours notice will be given to Employees if required to work on an RDO, however such notice is not required in cases of emergencies.
15.5.6 Where an Employee has an RDO accrual of greater than 16.8 hours, the Manager Assets & Engineering Services (or his nominee) may request the Employee to take such surplus RDO leave at a particular time having regard to operational requirements.
Rostered Day. Off Falls on a Holiday
Rostered Day. Off (RDO) Subject to the following, employees will be entitled to an RDO every four (4) weeks. The date of taking RDOs will be posted in advance. Taking of an RDO shall involve:-
(a) Compressing a 20-day working cycle (152 hours) into 19 days by working 19 x 8 hour days and having a RDO within the working cycle.
(b) Payment will be based on actual hours worked, and the RDO shall be taken without pay.
(c) Public Holidays will be based on a 7.6 hour day. (i.e.: where applicable 7.6 hours pay)
Rostered Day. Off means the normal days off duty provided for in accordance with the roster, but shall not include the programmed day off as defined in clause 4.1.6.
Rostered Day. Off
i) Rostered days off will be scheduled to allow each employee 12 (twelve) days off per annum. Such scheduling will allow for at least 6 (six) Mondays or Fridays per annum
ii) The Company shall schedule rostered days off one month in advance.
iii) If required by the Company, an employee shall make themselves available to work on a day which has been scheduled as a rostered day off. The requirement shall be in accordance with particular work area requirements and schedules.
iv) Where an employee works on a day that had been scheduled as a rostered day off, he/she shall be entitled to take an alternative day as a rostered day off within 14 (fourteen) days. Where possible, the alternate day shall fall upon the same day of the week as the original scheduled rostered day off.
v) Where an employee wishes to be excused from working upon a day scheduled as a rostered day off, he/she must provide a reasonable explanation, including evidence, of why he/she cannot attend for work on that day.
vi) Save for illness or responsibilities as a carer, where an employee fails to attend to work upon a day which had been scheduled as a rostered day off, then the absence will be considered misconduct and the Company will be entitled to discipline the employee. Further, the employee shall not be paid for that day.
vii) Where an employee is required to work upon a day which had been scheduled as a rostered day and does not attend for reason of illness, he/she shall provide a doctor’s certificate stating the reason for the absence. Where sick leave is claimed on more than 3 (three) occasions during a
Rostered Day. 7.1 Rostered days may be accumulated up to a maximum of 15 days. All untaken roster day leave can be redeemed. The redemption shall be paid for by the company at the rate of time and half and can be taken at the discretion of the employee providing 5 days or more are redeemed. Less than 5 days can be paid out at time and half with any 5 day holiday pay drawn.
Rostered Day. Off means, a non-working day for full-time employees pursuant to an arrangement of ordinary hours under clause 18A, where the employee:
a) within two weeks, is granted four days off and one additional day off (the “rostered day off”); or
b) within three weeks, is granted six days off and one additional day off (the “rostered day off”);
c) within four weeks, is granted eight days off and one additional day off (the “rostered day off”).
Rostered Day. Off Falling on Public Holiday - In the case of an employee whose ordinary hours of work are arranged in accordance with subclauses 12 (i), (ii) or (iii) of this Award the weekday to be taken off shall not coincide with a public holiday fixed in accordance with this clause. Provided that, in the event that a public holiday is prescribed after an employee has been given notice of a weekday off in accordance with subclause (d) of clause 12 of this Award and the public holiday falls on such weekday the employer shall allow the employee to take a day off in lieu on an alternative week day.
