Professional Day Activities. If there are professional days scheduled prior to the student school year, then at least the equivalent of one day, in no less than three-hour blocks, shall be reserved exclusively for Unit I members to work in his/her classroom for the purpose of preparing for students. Safe Schools: Half of one professional day prior to the first student day will be designated to complete Safe Schools training requirements.

Professional Day Activities. If there are a minimum of seven (7) professional days scheduled prior to the student school year, then at least the equivalent of two (2) days, in no less than three-hour blocks, shall be reserved exclusively for Unit I members to work in their classroom for the purpose of preparing for students and completing SafeSchools Training. If there are less than seven (7) professional days scheduled prior to the student school year, then at least one (1) day, in no less than three-hour blocks, shall be reserved exclusively for Unit 1 members to work in their classroom for the purpose of preparing for students.   • Professional Days The President of the College or the President’s designee may assign any faculty member up to seven (7) days during the academic year for scheduled orientation and registration programs, commencement and convocation activities and such other College sponsored activities the Present deems appropriate. Professional days shall be assigned no earlier than three (3) days prior to the first (1st) day of classes in the fall semester and no earlier than four (4) days prior to the first (1st) day of classes in the spring semester. Such duties and responsibilities may be assigned to individual faculty members in blocks in one-half (1/2) day or more; and provided further that a faculty member shall not be required to discharge these responsibilities over more than fourteen (14) days during the academic year.

  • Professional Activities The Superintendent shall be encouraged to attend appropriate professional meetings and continuing education at the local, state and national levels. Within budget constraints, as approved by the Board, the costs of attendance shall be paid by the Board.
