Provision of Further Education. Where the Academic Partner provides or delivers Further Education, the provisions set out in Part 1 of the Schedule will apply in relation to such provision of Further Education.

Provision of Further Education. 1.1 The Academic Partner will conduct and provide in its own name, such teaching in Further Education as shall be agreed and funded by the Fundable Body in accordance with guidelines set by the Regional Strategic Committee from time to time. 1.2 The Academic Partner will be responsible for and accountable to the Fundable Body for the organisation and control of Further Education conducted by the Academic Partner pursuant to the FHE Acts, to the UHI Court through the UHI Principal and the Regional Strategic Committee. 1.3 The principal of the Academic Partner will be accountable to the UHI Principal through the Regional Strategic Committee, for the use of all resources allocated by the Fundable Body to the Academic Partner (being a college assigned to the Fundable Body pursuant to the Assigned Colleges Order) in respect of Further Education teaching undertaken by the Academic Partner. 1.4 In each Academic Year, the Fundable Body will provide funding by way of grant, loan or other payment to the Academic Partner to enable the Academic Partner to provide Further Education. 1.5 In respect of each Academic Year, the Fundable Body will provide the Academic Partner with information confirming the level of funding for the delivery of Further Education for the forthcoming Academic Year, the timing of payments and details of the extent of the Further Education provision which the Academic Partner will be required to deliver as early as practicable (and in any event, not later than 30 days after the date on which the Fundable Body receives written confirmation from SFC of the allocation of funding for further education for the Highlands and Islands region in each Academic Year). 1.6 Subject to paragraphs 1.7 and 1.8 below, in each Academic Year, the Fundable Body will be entitled to make reasonable in-year adjustments to the funding to be provided to the Academic Partner for the provision of Further Education. 1.7 The Fundable Body will only be entitled to make reasonable in-year adjustments in the following circumstances: (a) if the level of funding provided to the Fundable Body by the SFC in respect of the provision of Further Education is subject to adjustment by the SFC; or (b) in exceptional circumstances (of which the Fundable Body will be the sole judge, acting reasonably). 1.8 The entitlement of the Fundable Body to make in-year adjustments provided for in paragraph 1.6 is above is without prejudice to any entitlement, function, power or right of the Fundable...

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • General Education Requirements Students who intend to transfer to SUNY Buffalo State College with an A.A. or A.S. degree, will be considered as having fulfilled general education/Intellectual Foundations as long as they complete the 30 credits and 7 of 10 areas of SUNY-GER requirements prior to the start of their studies at SUNY Buffalo State College. Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories. The student is responsible for fulfilling the SUNY Buffalo State College Diversity requirement.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Leave With Pay for Family-Related Responsibilities (a) For the purpose of this clause, “family” is defined as: (i) spouse (including common law spouse resident with the employee); (ii) children (including xxxxxx children, children of legal or common-law partner and xxxx of the employee); (iii) parents (including step-parents or xxxxxx parents), father-in-law, mother-in-law; (iv) brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister; (v) grandparents and grandchildren of the employee; (vi) any relative, residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides; or (vii) any relative for whom the employee has a duty of care, irrespective of whether they reside with the employee. (b) The total leave with pay which may be granted under this clause shall not exceed thirty-seven decimal five (37.5) hours in a fiscal year. (c) At the request of an employee, leave with pay for family related responsibilities may be granted as follows: (i) to take a dependent family member for medical or dental appointments, or for appointments with school authorities or adoption agencies; the employee who requests a leave pursuant to this clause should make every reasonable effort to schedule these appointments to minimize or preclude his or her absence from work; (ii) for the temporary care of a sick member of the employee's family and to provide the employee with time to make alternate care arrangements where the illness is of a longer duration; (iii) for needs directly related to the birth or adoption of his or her child; (iv) to attend school functions, if the supervisor was notified of the functions as far in advance as possible; (v) to provide for the employee’s child in the case of an unforeseeable closure of the school or daycare facility; (vi) seven decimal five (7.5) hours out of the thirty-seven decimal five (37.5) hours stipulated in paragraph (b) above may be used to attend an appointment with a legal or paralegal representative for non-employment related matters, or with a financial or other professional representative, if the supervisor was notified of the appointment as far in advance as possible.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Family Responsibility Leave An employee is entitled to up to 5 days of unpaid leave during each employment year to meet responsibilities related to: (a) the care, health or education of a child in the employee’s care; or (b) the care or health of any other member of the employee’s immediate family.
