Family responsibility leave definition

Family responsibility leave means leave entitlement in the event of the death or serious illness of a member’s legal wife, child or biological parent: Provided that a legal wife shall include a party to a customary union under ethnic law and custom or to a union recognized as a marriage under the tenets of any Asiatic religion;
Family responsibility leave means entitlement in the event of the death of a member’s spouse or life partner; or parent, adoptive parent, grandparent, child, adopted child, grandchild or sibling; or when a member’s child is born; or when a member’s child is sick;
Family responsibility leave. The Employee is entitled to 3 days' paid family responsibility leave per annum which can be taken in case of illness or birth of a child, or in the event of the death of the employee's spouse or life partner, (adoptive) parent, grandparent, (adopted) child, grandchild or sibling. Reasonable proof of the event can be required by the Employer.

  • Family responsibility leave shall not be used for the purpose of extending vacation.

  • The Employer recognizes there are a variety of unpaid leaves under the Employment Standards Act including, but not limited to: • Leave respecting the disappearance of a child; • Leave respecting the death of a child; • Family responsibility leave; • Critical illness leave; • Compassionate care leave; and • Leave respecting Domestic or Sexual Violence.

  • Family responsibility leave shall be granted as a right in accordance with the provisions of Employment Standards Act.

  • Family responsibility leave is granted to the Employee in the event of the death of a close relative as defined in the Company policies and Basic Conditions of Employment Act, or when the Employee’s child is sick or on the birth of an Employee’s child.

  • parental responsibility , in relation to a child, means all the duties, powers, responsibilities and authority which, by law, parents have in relation to children.

  • Institutional Responsibilities means an Investigator’s professional responsibilities on behalf of the University, which may include for example: activities such as research, research consultation, teaching, professional practice, University committee memberships, and service on panels such as Institutional Review Boards or data and safety monitoring boards.

  • Official responsibility means administrative or operating authority, whether intermediate or final, to initiate, approve, disapprove or otherwise affect a procurement transaction, or any claim resulting therefrom.

  • Family leave means a leave of absence from employment for one (1) of the following reasons: (1) The serious illness of an eligible employee; or (2) the serious illness of a member of an eligible employee’s immediate family. Family Leave, by itself or in combination with statutory Parental Leave (as opposed to contractual parental leave), may not exceed twelve (12) weeks in a twelve (12) month period beginning with the first day either type of leave is used. Leave taken under this Agreement will be credited against any such statutory entitlement to the full extent permitted by law.

  • Emergency responder means an individual who is required to possess a license, certificate, permit, or other official recognition for his or her expertise in a particular field or area of knowledge and whose assistance is utilized or is desirable during an emergency. Emergency responder includes, but is not limited to, emergency medical services personnel; physicians; nurses; mental health, veterinary, or other public health practitioners; emergency management personnel; public works personnel; and firefighters, including firefighters trained in the areas of hazardous materials, specialized rescue, extrication, water rescue, or other specialized area. Emergency responder does not include law enforcement officers or other law enforcement personnel.

  • Financial responsibility means the ability to respond in damages for liability thereafter incurred

  • Corporate Social Responsibility means Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as defined in Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 and Companies Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014;

  • Emergency medical responder or “EMR” means an individual who has successfully completed a course of study based on the United States Department of Transportation’s Emergency Medical Responder Instructional Guidelines (January 2009), has passed the psychomotor and cognitive examinations for the EMR, and is currently certified by the department as an EMR.

  • Emergency Response Plan means the plan constituting the set of procedures developed by the Owner for dealing with an Incident which may impact on the Network or Connecting Infrastructure, including all actions to be taken to minimise or alleviate any threat or danger to any person or property:

  • Family and Medical Leave means a leave of absence for the birth, adoption or foster care of a child, or for the care of your child, spouse or parent or for your own serious health condition as those terms are defined by the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) and any amendments, or by applicable state law.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Legal Requirement designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and any program, whether governmental or private (such as those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.

  • Health and Safety Plan means a documented plan which addresses hazards identified and includes safe work procedures to mitigate, reduce or control the hazards identified;
