Provisional Assignments. Employees assigned to a higher classification for less than three (3) months shall be paid a five percent (5%) differential. Employees assigned to a higher class for more than three (3) months shall be paid an eight percent (8%) differential. Incumbents in a provisional assignment for more than a year will be promoted to the higher classification if the incumbent meets the minimum qualifications of the higher classification and all required and applicable testing has been passed by the incumbent.

Provisional Assignments. A. Provisional assignments shall be offered to qualified employees in the covered membership in accordance with their rank on the appropriate eligible lists. When the number of provisionally-assigned employees in a specific classification at a facility must be reduced, the provisional employee at the facility in the effected classification with the lowest rank on the appropriate eligible list will be the first one to be returned to his/her former permanent position.

  • Special Assignments Special assignments shall not be considered breaks in service or affect the privileges and the status of that person with the University. Any special conditions of such special assignments shall be clearly set forth in writing. They shall become binding only after having been signed by the unit member concerned and by the appropriate chancellor, or designee.

  • Shift Assignments When an opening occurs in a shift assignment in an appropriate work group at a location, preference shall be given to employees within the classification who possess the training, ability and any required special qualifications to perform the work required, on the basis of seniority. In the event that no employee desires a shift assignment, employees shall be selected in order of inverse seniority. This provision shall not apply to necessary training assignments. This provision shall not in itself alter the practice of rotating shifts where such practice presently exists. No employee who has a regular shift assignment on the effective date of the Agreement shall be involuntarily displaced from such shift assignment as a result of this Article.

  • Relief Assignments 3.1 All possible regular relief assignments with five days work per week and two consecutive rest days (subject to Rule 2) shall be established to perform necessary relief work or to perform relief work on certain days and such types of other work on other days as may be assigned under this Agreement.

  • Instructional Assignment The period of an instructional assignment during an academic year shall not exceed an average of seventy-five (75) days per semester and the period for testing, advisement, and other scheduled assignments shall not exceed an average of ten (10) days per semester. Within each semester, activities referred to above shall be scheduled during contiguous weeks with the exception of spring break, if any.

  • Training Assignments The Supervisor or designee may establish written training assignments to enable an employee to gain the additional experience and training required for the job for a period of time not to exceed two years. At the completion of the training assignment, the employee’s pay will be set no less than the entry rate of pay for the occupational pay band.
