PTO Use for Unanticipated Medical Reasons. Any payment of PTO due to unanticipated medical reasons (i.e., sickness, injury or emergency medical treatments) shall be subject to immediate notification of absence, which shall be given by the nurse to the Employer as soon as possible on the first day of absence. In cases of suspected abuse or fitness for duty matters, the Employer reserves the right to require reasonable written proof of illness, which permits the Employer to require a physician’s statement.
