Professional Meeting. The Association and Administration recognize the need for having professional staff meetings. Meetings outside the contractual work day may be compensated at the hourly rate set forth in section 3.4 of this agreement with approval of the Superintendent.
Professional Meeting. The term “professional meeting” is defined to include those sessions conducted to develop the skills and qualifications of employees for the purpose of enhancingand upgrading the overall quality of patient care and hospital services. It cannot include, in any way, any meeting conducted for any purpose related to labor relations or collective bargaining activities. The Employer has authority to approve the professional meeting and to review all scheduling requirements. Any additional days may also be granted at the Employer’s discretion.

1. A paraprofessional interested in attending a professional conference should complete a “Professional Meeting/Visit Request Form” and an “Absence Form Service’ Request Form to be approved by the building administrator. Original, signed copies will be given to the building secretary to be forwarded to the superintendent’s office for final approval. A copy of the approved form will be emailed to the teacher and the main office from the Superintendent’s Office. After an approved request has been received by the paraprofessional, then they should proceed placing the absence in xxx.xxxxxxxx00.xxx or equivalent. No conferences or meetings should be scheduled until the above process has been completed.

Professional Meeting. 1. Bargaining unit employees are encouraged to attend professional meetings that contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skills directly related to their position with the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Schools.
2. Written request shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor for approval and forwarded to the Superintendent. The Superintendent, at his discretion, shall have authority to grant such requests without loss of pay.
3. Employees will be reimbursed at the IRS rate for mileage reimbursement for the use of their private automobiles for approved professional meetings.
Professional Meeting. Employees are encouraged to attend professional meetings that contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skill directly related to their position with the Board. Upon approval of the superintendent, an employee shall be granted leave to attend or participate in professional activities which will enhance professional skills and qualifications. An employee shall be reimbursed for the actual expenditure up to the following rates: lodging, One Hundred and Fifteen Dollars ($115.00); meals, Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00); miles at the current IRS rate as of July 1st of each year; and toll charges. Receipts shall be submitted upon return of the employee and a typewritten report of the meeting attended within ten (10) days of return to the superintendent. Reimbursement shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of submission of the receipts.
Professional Meeting. Discussion The CAMHS case worker is responsible for making contact with the identified named receiving Adult Care co-ordinator and facilitating the most appropriate method of transfer which will include a full transfer of appropriate documentation, history, care plan and risk assessment.
Professional Meeting. Teachers desiring to attend professional meetings shall submit their request to the building principal or the Superintendent at least ten (10) working days prior to the meeting, exceptions may be granted. Final approval or rejection of the request shall rest with the Superintendent. The Board of Education will help to defray the expenses for attending professional meetings related to the curricular program of the school as follows:
A. Maximum of $40.00 per day for meals.
B. Travel to and from the meeting will be as stated in the negotiated agreement.
C. For one-day meetings, overnight hotel bills to a maximum of $125.00 per person may be approved for distances of more than one hundred (100) miles from Sherwood. For meetings of two (2) or more days, overnight hotel bills to a maximum of $125.00 per person per night may be approved for distances of more than fifty (50) miles from Sherwood.
D. All registration fees. If another organization or agency is also paying expenses to some degree, this amount will be deducted from the approved rate. In addition to the daily allowance, the Board of Education will also pay the salary for a substitute teacher for the approved number of days. Days used beyond those granted will cause deductions from the teacher's salary.
