Rate of Accrual. Regular, permanent, full-time employees shall accrue sick leave on an hourly basis equivalent to a rate of up to eight (8) hours per month, not to exceed ninety- six (96) hours in any calendar year (8 hours per month X 12 months = 96 hours per year). Such sick leave shall be based on a pro-rata share of time worked on a full-time work schedule. Regular permanent part-time employees shall accrue pro rata sick leave based on time worked on less than full-time schedules. Sick leave is accrued from the first (1st) day of employment, but may not be used until the completion of thirty (30) days of continuous employment, and is to be used under the conditions stated in Section 23.02 of this Article.
