Rate of Accruing Vacation. Vacation credit shall be accrued by an eligible employee beginning on the first day of the vacation accrual period during which the required qualifying service is completed, at the following rates:

Rate of Accrual All full-time employees shall be credited with five (5) hours of paid sick leave per pay period.
RATE OF VACATION PAY Compensation during vacation shall be at the rate of compensation as set forth for each classification in Appendix "A" which such employee would have been entitled to receive, including premium pay, while in active service during such vacation period.
Accrual Rate of Sick Leave With Pay Credits Full-time employees shall accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave with pay credits for each full month worked. Employees who work less than the full month but at least thirty-two (32) hours during the month shall accrue sick leave with pay on a pro rata basis for the month.

Holiday During Vacation If a holiday, named under Article 7 of this Agreement, falls within the vacation period of an employee, he shall be granted an additional day's pay in lieu of the holiday.
Sick Leave During Vacation Where an employee qualifies for sick leave due to illness or injury during the period of vacation time, sick leave shall displace vacation leave. An illness or injury occurring while the employee is on scheduled vacation time shall not be accepted as a claim for sick leave benefits unless recuperation involves hospitalization or confinement to bed by order of a medical practitioner. Written medical verification of such illness or injury and hospitalization or confinement must be provided to the Employer in order for the employee to be eligible for sick leave benefits.
Rate of Compensation In lieu of direct compensation for all overtime, shift work and standby (as defined in Articles 16, 17 and 18 of this Agreement), regular full-time employees shall receive a special compensation of 7% of their basic salary earned for each calendar year. This special compensation shall not be considered part of the employee's basic salary for the purpose of calculating any benefits or other premium entitlements.
Rate of Accumulation Full-time employees shall earn cumulative sick leave at the rate of 1.25 days per month during each calendar year to a maximum of seventy-five (75) days in total. Regular part-time employees will earn sick leave on a prorated basis.
Holidays During Vacation If a paid holiday falls or is observed during an employee's vacation period, he/she shall be granted an additional day's vacation with pay for each holiday in addition to his/her regular vacation time.
Vacation Accrual Rates Laid off employees who are re-employed shall have the vacation accrual rate they held immediately prior to layoff restored.
