Transfer and Reinstatement of Sick Leave. 1. An employee who is transferred, promoted, or demoted from one University position to another University position in which sick leave accrues and can be transferred shall have the sick leave transferred. An employee who is transferred, promoted, or demoted to a position in which sick leave does not accrue or in which sick leave cannot be transferred shall not have accrued sick leave transferred. However, if the employee later transfers to a position in which sick leave accrues, the previously accrued sick leave shall be reinstated.
Transfer and Reinstatement of Sick Leave. 1. An employee transferred, promoted, or demoted without a break in service shall have any accumulated sick leave transferred if the employee is moving to a position where sick leave is accumulated. An employee transferred, promoted, or demoted to a position which does not accumulate sick leave shall have his/her accumulated sick leave held in abeyance. If the employee subsequently moves without a break in service to a position within the University which does accumulate sick leave, the previously accumulated sick leave shall be restored. An employee who has been laid off and is recalled or preferentially rehired within the employee’s period of recall or preferential rehire eligibility shall have all sick leave accumulated from prior service reinstated.

An employee who is reemployed after a break in service of fifteen (15) calendar days or more but less than six (6) months shall have accrued sick leave from prior service not in excess of eighty (80) hours reinstated. State of California service is included as University service for the purpose of applying paragraphs F.2 and F.3 above. An employee who is reemployed from preferential rehire status shall have all accrued sick leave from prior service reinstated.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Portability of Sick Leave 1. The employer will accept up to sixty (60) accumulated sick leave days from other school districts in British Columbia, for employees hired to or on exchange in the district.

  • Reinstatement after Leave An employee on an approved leave of absence is required to contact the Appointing Authority if an extension is being requested. Failure to contact the Appointing Authority about an extension prior to the end of the approved leave shall be deemed to be a voluntary resignation, and the employee shall be severed from State service. The Local Union and the Appointing Authority may agree to waive the five (5) month reassignment restriction in order to temporarily fill the position of an employee on unpaid Military Leave until s/he returns from active duty. Any employee returning from an approved leave of absence as covered by this Article shall be entitled to return to employment in his/her former position or another position in his/her former class/class option in his/her seniority unit, or a position of comparable duties and pay within his/her seniority unit. Employees returning from extended leaves of absence (one (1) month or more) shall notify their Appointing Authority at least two (2) weeks prior to their return from leave. Employees may return to work prior to the agreed upon termination date with the approval of the Appointing Authority. Employees returning from an unpaid leave of absence shall be returned at the same rate of pay the employee had been receiving at the time the leave of absence commenced plus any automatic adjustments that would have been made had the employee been continuously employed during the period of absence.   • Uses of Sick Leave Sick leave shall be granted to an employee upon approval of the Employer and for the following reasons:

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Upon Recall The period of vacation leave so displaced resulting from recall and transportation time in accordance with Articles 17.16 and 17.17, shall either be added to the vacation period, if requested by the Employee and approved by the Employer, or reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Benefits on Sick Leave Effective for absences beginning on or after April 1, 2000, the Hospital will pay the employer portion of the benefit premiums while an employee is on sick leave, including the EI period prior to the commencement of long term disability and LTD, to a maximum of 30 months from the date the absence began.
