Re-employment in an Intermediate Class. An employee who has completed the probationary period in a promotive appointment that is two or more steps higher in an occupational series than the permanent position from which promoted and who is subsequently laid off and returned to a position in an intermediate ranking classification shall receive a salary based upon actual permanent service in the higher classification, unless such salary is less than the employee would have been entitled to if promoted directly to the intermediate classification. Further increments shall be based upon the increment anniversary date that would have applied in the higher classification.

  • Reemployment in Same Class Following Layoff An employee who has acquired permanent status in a position and who is laid off because of lack of work or funds and is re-employed in the same class after such layoff shall be paid the salary step attained prior to layoff.
