Reclassification of Positions. A. Compensation Administration is responsible for reviewing requests for reclassification and submitting the findings with advisory recommendations to the Chief Officer, Human Resources. B. 27.3 Where the content of a position classification may description or a proposal form, that forms the basis of a classification, remains in dispute for a period longer than 2 months then the matter will be made by any employee or his/her supervisor through the procedures stated below:
1. The employee (or supervisor, where there is no incumbent) completes a job classification questionnaire, a Classification Review Form, a revised job description resolved in accordance with addition underlined and deletion struck through, and submits these to his/her immediate supervising administratorEmployment Related Grievance Resolution Procedures set out in clause 13.
2. Within 10 work days 27.4 Where the outcome of receiptthe grievance procedure is successful, the employee's immediate supervising administrator signs date of effect of the job disputed position description will be no later than the conclusion of the two month period.
27.5 Reclassification to a higher level will normally be at the minimum step of the new level.
27.6 A staff member aggrieved by a review of classification questionnaire and indicates on decision may apply for a review of the decision, by the Classification Review Form his/her opinion regarding Committee which will comprise the merits following members who will be trained in the use of the requestPosition Classification Standards:
(a) the nominee of the Vice-Chancellor;
(b) a nominee of the Xxxx/Divisional Director of the area in which the Trades and Services Staff member is located; and
(c) two nominees of Chairperson of JCC, drawn from a pool of elected staff members in accordance with clause 11. All nominees will be selected in a timely fashion. The application to the Classification Review Committee will attach the position description and the review proposal form for the Committee’s reference. The Committee will review the application, taking into account relativities with other comparable positions across the University and any further information as determined by the Committee. Requests for review will be dealt with and concluded expeditiously and preferably within one month of lodgment.

Compensation Administration is responsible In accordance with Section 3, Management Rights, the Employer has the right to determine the work to be done, the extent to which work shall be performed by employees, and the job related standards to be met by employees. If the Employer feels that the work to be performed by any particular bargaining unit position has changed to the extent that the position should be upgraded to a higher classification level, the Employer will hold a Special Conference to inform the Union President and Chief Xxxxxxx within thirty (30) University days of the promotion to a higher classification level. Reclassification of Positions. A. Compensation Administration 159 The Employer establishes and maintains a system for the evaluation and classification of all bargaining unit positions. The authority to classify new positions, reclassify existing positions and eliminate positions is responsible vested in MSU Human Resources. -160 When a classification is established or modified, the grade level for reviewing the classification shall be fixed by the Employer and the Association shall be notified prior to implementation. The compensation level shall be in conformity with rates established for positions of similar responsibility. If there is a disagreement over the compensation assigned the position, a special conference may be scheduled with the Office of Employee Relations. If the disagreement is not resolved, the Association may file a demand for arbitration within fourteen (14) calendar days of the special conference. The Arbitrator shall be limited to determining the appropriateness of the compensation level assigned the position but shall be without power to assign a compensation level for the classification. -161 The Unit Administrator will normally initiate requests for position reclassification.
A. Requests for position reclassification and submitting may also be initiated by the findings with advisory recommendations Association.
1. Requests will be directed to MSU Human Resources. Following MSU Human Resource’s review of the request, MSU Human Resources will make a recommendation to the Chief OfficerDirector of Employee Relations whose decision on the request shall not be grievable, but may be the subject of a s special conference.

Following This provision shall not delay the Superintendentremoval of supervisory duties or other personnel changes, including changes in pay, associated with the reclassification. -162 The salary of an Employee whose position is reclassified to a higher grade level shall be no less than the minimum salary of the higher grade level. The University shall pay a minimum lump sum “special payment” of $500 in any monthly pay period where the Employee has performed in an interim (or acting) assignment for fifteen (15) or more working days. The payment may be a temporary addition to base salary or a lump-sum special payment at the unit’s reviewdiscretion. A lump-sum special payment will not be subject to salary-based benefits, Human Resources will forward all recommendations such as the Employer or Employee contributions under the MSU 403(b) base retirement plan, life insurance, etc. In order to qualify for job reclassification a special payment, the employee must be assigned to the School Board for final actioninterim (or acting) position by a supervisor or managerial university official.
