Common use of Religious Holiday Leave Clause in Contracts

Religious Holiday Leave. A. A unit member may be absent, with pay, on a Religious Holiday not included in the school calendar. Observance of the Holiday as a day on which no work is to be performed must be required by a bona fide religious belief; this may be demonstrated by a showing that the Holiday is one that is so observed by a bona fide religion or religious body to which the member is an adherent holding such a belief. Such absence shall not exceed one (1) day during the school year.
