Association Deductions. 1. The authorization for deduction of Association dues and/or legal assessments shall be on a continuing basis unless revoked in writing by the employee through the Association President and employer prior to September 1. Association Deductions. The Board agrees to deduct from Association members' salaries, an amount to cover the annual dues for the Association, the CEA and the NEA, as the Covered Employee individually and voluntarily agrees on the MVEA membership authorization form to authorize the Board to deduct and to transmit the amount to the treasurer of the Association on a regular monthly basis. The Board will also deduct, as the Covered Employee individually and voluntarily authorizes, any amounts designated as political action contributions. Such authorization shall be made on, or before, the payroll cutoff date for each month.
Association Deductions. Any certificated employee who is a member of the Association, or who has applied for membership, shall sign and deliver an authorization form to the Association. Such membership authorization shall continue in effect from year-to-year unless revoked in writing and sent to the Association and the District between August 1 and September 30 of each year. Dues deductions for certificated employees employed after the commencement of the school year shall be appropriately prorated, consistent with the Association dues policy. No member of the bargaining unit will be required to join the Association; however, those employees who are not Association member(s) (but are members of the bargaining unit) will be required to pay a fair share representation fee to the Association. The amount of the fair share representation fee will be determined by the Association and transmitted to the Business Office in writing. The fair share representation fee shall be an amount less than the regular dues for the Association membership, in that nonmembers shall be neither required nor allowed to make a political (WEA-PAC or NEA-FCPE) deduction. The fair share representation fee shall be regarded as fair compensation and reimbursement to the Association for fulfilling its legal obligation to represent all members of the bargaining unit.
Association Deductions. The Board agrees to deduct membership dues of the Association, its unified affiliates and other affiliated organizations in the manner prescribed below: A. The Association will inform each of its members and prospective members of the voluntary nature of their authorization for deduction(s), including the prescribed procedure for utilizing an authorization and the provisions and procedures for revoking an authorization. B. The Association agrees to distribute and collect prescribed authorization forms from members of the bargaining unit. The Association agrees to provide the prescribed authorization forms to the teachers. C. These functions are the sole responsibility of the Association. D. The Association President or Treasurer shall submit all new signed authorization forms to the Treasurer of the Board during a period from September 1 to September 30 each year. Unless revoked in keeping with procedures contained herein, an authorization will continue from year to year. The Board's Treasurer shall deduct dues in ten (10) equal installments beginning with the second paycheck coming due in October and each second paycheck of each of the following nine (9) months. Any member of the bargaining unit who has authorized said deductions may revoke his/her authorization by notifying the Board's Treasurer on a form prescribed by the Board and the Association within the window period from September 1 to September 30. The Board’s Treasurer shall provide the Association’s Treasurer with any/all completed forms on or prior to October 10th. E. To provide for a more equitable means of taking deductions from an individual's pay, all voluntary deductions, other than professional dues and credit union payments, shall be deducted from the first payroll of each month. Association Deductions. Upon written authorization from a teacher, the Corporation shall begin payroll deductions of Association dues and political action contributions. Such sums shall be remitted by the tenth (10th) of each month to the Association. Delivery of such remittance to the office of the Association, attention to the Treasurer, by United States first class mail shall constitute sufficient remittance. Association payroll deduction authorizations may be submitted at any time. Association deductions will be made in equal amounts using the following procedures: 1. The Association deductions for a school year may be deducted in equal amounts according to the pay schedule opted by the teacher from twenty-one (21) or twenty-six (26) pays beginning each year with the first pay for the school year. 2. The Association must notify the Director of Human Resources in writing of any changes in the annual dues by August 15 of each year. Otherwise, the dues schedule in effect for the previous school year will remain in effect for the next annual deduction period which commences with the first pay for the school year. 3. For those teachers not previously on payroll deduction, the School Corporation will deduct in equal amounts the total amount of Association deductions for the pay periods left in that school year deduction period. Payroll deductions will begin the next pay following receipt of proper payroll deduction authorization submitted ten (10) or more working days prior to the payroll date. If so authorized on the written authorization, Association deductions shall be deducted indefinitely on a continuing membership basis, unless and until a written rescission is given to the School Corporation by the teacher. The School Corporation will notify the Association, upon receipt of any rescission by email and through its Chief Financial Officer, of any previous month rescissions with its monthly remittance. It is understood that the Association will save the Board harmless against any and all claims of liability which may arise out of, or by reason of, action taken or not taken by the Board in compliance with deduction authorization cards furnished by or through the Association to the Board.

Association Deductions. 1. Each Nurse who is a member of the Association or authorizes Association deductions shall have the Association deductions deducted as provided in this Article. 2. The Association will certify to the University to begin deductions or to cease deductions from the salaries of bargaining unit Nurses. Such certification shall occur no later than the 15th of the month for the following monthly or bi-weekly payroll cycle. Such deductions shall be delivered to the University in an Excel (.xls) format. 3. The Association will either deliver an electronic file in Excel (*.xls) format to the University’s campus appropriate office or upload files to the FTP website on a rolling basis. The University shall provide notice of the final administrative process at least thirty (30) calendar days in advance of the change. The deduction file(s) shall be either transmitted electronically or uploaded no later than the 15th of each month. For bi- weekly paid employees included in this union deduction file to be submitted by the 15th of the month or on a rolling production submission, the University will process the next business day following the Friday before the end of each bi-weekly pay period for the deductions to be effective the next full-bi-weekly pay period. In the event that the 15th falls on a weekend, the Union will deliver the list on the following Monday. In the event that the appropriate office is closed on the 15th, the Union will deliver the list on the business day prior to the 15th. The Association list to be submitted shall contain the available information, in a form that is mutually agreed upon by the parties, including: a. Bargaining Unit b. Campus or Medical Center c. Employee Name (last, first) d. Employee Identification Number e. Action Code f. Deduction Code g. Ongoing deduction dollar amount for political action The University and the Association shall meet and discuss in a good faith effort to reach agreement regarding any issues related to processing Association deductions. It is not the intent of the parties to delay or deny processing Association deductions due to unavailable information. 4. The University shall deduct and remit to the Association no less frequently than once a month Association deductions, as established by the Association. The University shall not be responsible for deduction in any pay period in which the Nurse's net earnings are insufficient to cover the deduction. Association Deductions. 2.1 The District agrees that when: 2.1.1 The individual teacher has voluntarily authorized the District, in writing, to deduct dues and transmit monies to the Association Treasurer for the Association and other professional organizations affiliated with the Association through a unified dues arrangement, and 2.1.2 The District and Association recognize that the negotiation and administration of collective agreements are related activities entailing expenses which are appropriately shared by all employees covered by such agreements. They further recognize that the Association, by reason of its status as the "exclusive representative" of all employees in the negotiating unit, is obligated to fairly represent all such employees without regard to their membership in the Association. In consideration thereof, the District agrees to deduct from the wages of all employees in the negotiating unit who are not members of the Association, an agency fee in the amount equivalent to the unified dues of the Association and to promptly transmit the sums so deducted to the Association, and 2.1.3 The Association has, thirty (30) days prior to the deduction, certified in writing to the District the current rate of membership dues and agency fees to be deducted from employee wages. The District shall then: 2.2.1 Deduct authorized dues from the salaries of Association unit members in bi­ weekly installments beginning on a mutually agreed-upon date. 2.2.2 Deduction of the agency fee shall be made, consistent with the dues deduction schedule of this Agreement or in such other manner as the parties may agree in writing. The District agrees to furnish the Association with an alphabetical listing showing the names of all employees in the unit who are hired by October 1 of any school year. Deductions shall be appropriately prorated so as to complete deduction of the annual agency fee by the end of each school year. 2.2.3 Transmit all deducted dues to the Association Treasurer as deducted. 2.2.4 Provide dues deductions for additional Association unit members when signed deduction cards are presented to the District in time to process dues deductions during the normal deduction period. Mutual arrangements shall be made between the District and Association as to the method for such deductions within the normal dues deduction period. 2.2.5 The District and the Association agree to furnish to each other any information needed by the other party to fulfill the provisions of this Article. ...
