Common use of Religious Holiday Leave Clause in Contracts

Religious Holiday Leave. Up to two days paid leave per year shall be granted for a religious holiday, to be observed by the employee applying for the leave, and to be deducted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave. Instead of deducting religious holiday leave from accumulated sick leave, the employee may apply for the use of compensatory time to work on a non-duty day designated by the Superintendent or designee. Such compensatory time must be approved in advance of the religious holiday leave by the Superintendent or designee.
