Common use of Resolution of Grievance Clause in Contracts

Resolution of Grievance. The District and the Association shall attempt to resolve all grievances which may arise during the course of employment of any teacher in the following manner: 1. Level I (Principal or Supervisor): If the grievance is not resolved through informal discussions, the District's designee shall give a written decision on the grievance to the parties involved within 5 days after service of the written grievance. Subd. 2. Level II (Superintendent or Designee): In the event the grievance is not resolved in Level I, the decision rendered may be appealed to the Superintendent provided such appeal is made in writing within 5 days after service of the decision in Level I. Within 7 days after service of the appeal, the Superintendent/designee shall set a mutually agreeable time to meet regarding the grievance. Within 5 days after the meeting, the Superintendent/designee shall issue a decision, in writing, to the parties involved.
