Probationary Period; Change of Classification. In addition to the initial probationary period, an employee transferred or promoted to a different classification shall serve a new probationary period of three (3) calendar months in any such new classification. During this three (3)-month probationary period, if the School District determines that the employee’s performance in the new classification is unsatisfactory, the School District shall have the right to reassign the employee to the former classification.

The building engineer also reserves the right to voluntarily be reassigned back to his/her classification without loss of seniority or rights to the Agreement during the sixty (60) day probationary period.

Prior to a decision to return the employee to their former classification, the supervisor will meet with the employee at least twice to discuss expectations, any areas where the employee is not meeting performance standards and provide a reasonable time within the 90 days to correct the performance issues.
