Common use of Rest Between Change of Shift Clause in Contracts

Rest Between Change of Shift. (i) Eight Hour Shifts There shall be at least sixteen (16) hours of rest between change of shifts (excluding overtime) unless otherwise agreed to by mutual consent between the employee and the supervisor. Where sixteen (16) hours of rest (excluding overtime) are not provided, the employee shall receive pay at the rate of time and one half (1 1/2) for each hour worked on the scheduled shift which infringes on the sixteen (16) hour rest period.
