Common use of Rest Period Clause in Contracts

Rest Period. Employees shall be entitled to a rest period of not more than fifteen (15) minutes in the first half and second half of each working shift. In the event of overtime, employees shall be entitled to a rest period of not more than fifteen (15) minutes at the end of the regular daily shift and every two (2) hours thereafter. The rest periods are based on working a full seven (7) or eight (8) hour shift. If an employee is working less than a full seven (7) or eight (8) hour shift, they shall be entitled to one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest period.

Rest Period. After this time, the employee would return to work to complete the balance of their next regularly scheduled shift, if any. Employees who regularly work more than 4 consecutive hours but less than 8 hours or who are assigned to work overtime for a continuous period of 4 hours or more shall be entitled to granted a rest period of 15 minutes. This time is not more than fifteen (15) minutes in cumulative by the first half and second half of each working shift. In the event of overtime, employees shall be entitled to a rest period of not more than fifteen (15) minutes at the end of the regular daily shift and every two (2) hours thereafter. The rest periods are based on working a full seven (7) day or eight (8) hour shift. If an employee is working less than a full seven (7) or eight (8) hour shift, they shall be entitled to one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest periodweek.

An employee working nine (9) hours or more shall be granted an additional fifteen (15)minute rest period. The timing is to be at the eighth (8th) hour if one hour or more overtime is to be worked.
