Return from Leave. Employees who have been on an approved leave of absence shall return to work on the date specified on the leave. An employee on Leave of Absence (paid or unpaid) who fails to report to work at the end of such leave, or fails to obtain a written extension before the leave expiration date and does not report to work, is absent without an approved leave, unless the failure was unavoidable due to injury or illness, which must be documented in writing and certified by a physician as soon as possible in order to be considered for return to work.
