Common use of Rostered Days Off (RDO Clause in Contracts

Rostered Days Off (RDO. a) Unless varied as allowed above, in general Employees shall work 8 hour days (40 hour weeks) and accrue 2 hours per week to achieve 1 rostered days off per 4 week cycle. A new Employee will be eligible for an RDO after achieving 7.6 hours RDO accrual. It is recognised that not all Employees may want 1 rostered days off per month and provision is made below for the Employee to have discretion whether these rostered days off are taken each month, banked for future use or paid out to offset reduced hours of pay. b) The parties agree to balance flexibility with certainty with regard to the use of this RDO accrual. c) The management in regard to taking, working or banking of RDO’s is the responsibility of the Company. d) RDO’s are usually taken at a time mutually agreed between the Employee and the Company, however: (i) The Company may direct an Employee to take an RDO if their work site is closed for a site RDO or redirect an Employee to an alternative site. (ii) It is recognised that there is merit in scheduling RDO’s adjacent to public holiday weekends and having these as non working weekends to enable quality paid leisure time. 1 week prior to a public holiday weekend, an Employee shall nominate to the Company that they wish to schedule an RDO. The Company shall approve any Employee RDO nomination unless it has a genuine client or operational reasons for not doing so. (iii) RDO’s may be banked at a maximum of 5 days in any 12 month period; once 5 RDO’s have been banked they must be taken prior to Annual Leave being approved. (iv) Upon termination of employment, any rostered days off banked by the Employee will be paid out at ordinary rates. (v) Where an accrued RDO is to be taken, application for such time shall be sought giving at least 48 hours notice.

Rostered Days Off (RDO. a15.1 All Full-time Employees working the non 24/7 roster will work an average of thirty-eight (38) Unless varied ordinary hours per week, excluding unpaid breaks. 15.2 Where additional hours are worked, Employees can bank additional hours that can be taken as allowed abovesubsequent rostered days off (“RDO”) at their ordinary rate of pay (based on a 7.6 ordinary hour day). Generally this arrangement allows for working forty (40) hours per week, in general which Employees shall work 8 hour days accrue two (40 hour weeks2) and accrue 2 hours per week as banked RDO’s but this arrangement can be varied by mutual agreement in writing between the parties. Payment of overtime will not apply to achieve 1 this clause. 15.3 Employees RDO accrual will be taken as directed by Xxxxxxx and may be rostered days off per 4 week cycleby the Team Leader/Supervisor one month in advance to meet operational requirements. 15.4 RDO’s can also be requested by Employees and taken in agreement with Xxxxxxx. 15.5 RDO’s must be approved by the Team Leader/Supervisor in advance. A new Employee will minimum of two (2) weeks (14 days notice) must be eligible for an RDO after achieving 7.6 hours RDO accrual. It is recognised that not all Employees may want 1 rostered days off per month and provision is made below for the Employee to have discretion whether these rostered days off are taken each month, banked for future use or paid out to offset reduced hours of pay. b) The parties agree to balance flexibility with certainty with regard to the use of this RDO accrual. c) The management in regard to taking, working or banking of RDO’s is the responsibility of the Company. d) RDO’s are usually taken at a time mutually agreed between the Employee and the Company, however: (i) The Company may direct an Employee given when requesting to take an RDO. Any reduction in this notice may result in the RDO if their work site is closed for a site RDO being refused due to meeting operational requirements. 15.6 An Employee may be directed to take RDO’s or redirect requested to cashout RDO’s in excess of ten (10) days. 15.7 Upon written request to the company an Employee to an alternative site. (ii) It is recognised that there is merit in scheduling may cashout some/all of their accrued RDO’s adjacent to public holiday weekends and having these as non working weekends to enable quality paid leisure time’s. 1 week prior to a public holiday weekend, an Employee shall nominate to the Company that they wish to schedule an RDO. The Company shall approve any Employee RDO nomination unless it has a genuine client or operational reasons for not doing so. (iii) RDO’s may be banked at a maximum of 5 days in any 12 month period; once 5 RDO’s have been banked they must be taken prior to Annual Leave being approved. (iv) Upon termination of employment, any rostered days off banked by the Employee ’ s will be paid out at the Employees’s ordinary ratesrate of pay applicable at that time. (v) Where 15.8 Any remaining RDO’s will be paid out upon an accrued RDO is to Employees’s termination from the company. 15.9 RDO’s will be taken, application for such time shall be sought giving paid out at least 48 hours noticethe Employee’s ordinary rate of pay applicable at the time.

(iii) RDO’s maximum number of days that may be banked at a maximum of 5 days in any 12 month period; once 5 RDO’s have been banked they must be taken prior to Annual Leave being approved. (iv) Upon termination of employment, any rostered days off banked accrued for payout by the Employee will end of the calendar year is ten. The maximum number of days may be accrued and taken as leave shall be five. RDO's shall be paid out at ordinary ratesany time upon application with seven days notice. 11.4 The Company reserves the right to revise the roster plan under exceptional circumstances after consultation with the affected employees (v) for example in periods of high levels of sick leave due to flu epidemic). 11.5 In the high volume months of October to December and Easter, RDO's will generally not be granted. However, the Company recognises that from time to time employees may need to take RDO's during this busy period. Where possible, the Company will look favourably upon such requests being granted. 11.6 In the event that an accrued RDO is has been approved and rostered but the Company requests the employee to attend work, such work performed on this particular day will be takenpaid at the rate of time and one half for hours usually paid at normal rates. After this period, application for such time normal overtime rates will apply. 11.7 The provisions of this clause shall be sought giving at least 48 hours noticeonly apply with respect to those yards where RDO's have been agreed between the parties.

A new Employee will be eligible for an RDO after achieving 7.6 hours RDO accrual. It is recognised that not all Employees may want 1 rostered days off per month and provision is made below for efficiency within the Employee to have discretion whether these rostered days off are taken each month, banked for future use or paid out to offset reduced hours of pay. b) The parties agree to balance flexibility with certainty with regard to QLD Logistics operations the use of the 38-hour week Rostered Day Off will be modified and will operate as follows. Rather than having access to one Rostered Day Off every 4 weeks, rail and warehouse employees will be given an allotment of 12 RDO's to apply over a 12- month period. This allotment will be granted on the 1st of January each year. Subject to not compromising operational requirements RDO’s will be available to be taken by employees as required, following the approval of the Manger - QLD Logistics or delegated Supervisor. Employees will be given 2 opportunities each year to "cash in" their RDO entitlement. These dates will be the 30'th May and the 30'th November. The dates have been chosen to fit in with the BlueScope Steel Financial year and Christmas. The rate at which RDO's will be cashed in will be at ordinary time. Employees will not be able to accrue more than 12 RDO's at any one time. Any RDO's that an employee has not used or cashed in as of the 1st of January each year will be automatically bought out by the Company at the ordinary time rate, except by documented mutual agreement prior to this RDO accrual. c) The management in regard date. RDO's are to takingbe used to give employees single days off only and are not to be used as a substitute for annual leave or sick leave. Notwithstanding this where an employee has exhausted all leave entitlements, working or banking the Company and the individual employee concerned may mutually agree to the taking of RDO’s ’s. Any such arrangement is to be recorded in writing between the Company and the employee concerned. Only one employee will be allowed to take a RDO at any one time unless unexpected emergency situations exist. The decision as to allow a second or more person to take a RDO will be the sole responsibility of the Company. d) Manger - QLD Logistics or delegated Supervisor. Where practicable reasonable notice of no less than 1 week must be given by employees to ensure a particular day is made available to them. There will be no guarantee that the day requested will be made available, however the more notice given by employees the higher the likelihood becomes that the particular day in question will be available. The RDO’s are usually 's will be available to be taken at on any day of the week, and will not be restricted to Monday's and Friday's. Depending on the operational requirements of the business it may not always be possible to have a time mutually agreed between the Employee and the CompanyMonday or a Friday as a rostered day. Employees will continue to work 8 hours a day, however: (i) The Company may direct an Employee less a meal break unless they have approval to take an RDO if their work site is closed for a site RDO or redirect an Employee to an alternative siterostered day. (ii) It is recognised that there is merit in scheduling RDO’s adjacent to public holiday weekends and having these as non working weekends to enable quality paid leisure time. 1 week prior to a public holiday weekend, an Employee shall nominate to the Company that they wish to schedule an RDO. The Company shall approve any Employee RDO nomination unless it has a genuine client or operational reasons for not doing so. (iii) RDO’s may be banked at a maximum of 5 days in any 12 month period; once 5 RDO’s have been banked they must be taken prior to Annual Leave being approved.
