Common use of Safety Release Clause in Contracts

Safety Release. An employee who is required by the City to work more than fifteen (15) hours in any twenty-four (24)-hour work period and who is scheduled to work a shift in the next twenty-four (24)-hour work period shall be provided at least nine (9) hours off before being required to return to active duty status.

Safety Release. The Police Chief retains the authority to suspend this provision upon declaring a public safety emergency.
