Salar y Protection on Downward Reclassification. When a position has been reclassified downward the employee shall be placed on the wage grid in the new classification at the first step which is not less than the employee's present salary. Should the employee's salary be in excess of the maximum step in the new classification, the employee's salary shall be frozen until the salary of the new classification exceeds the employee's frozen salary. At that time, the employee shall be eligible for salary increases pursuant to the Collective Agreement.

  • Downward Reclassification a. When a position is reclassified to another class at the same pay level or to a class that carries a lower salary range, the incumbent trial service or regular employee shall be accorded corresponding status in the new class.
