Salary Schedule Placement Procedures. Placement on the salary schedule may be determined either by academic or occupational background. Such placement shall include both column and step. If a new unit member qualifies for placement on both academic and occupational experience, the placement shall be made based on whichever results in higher placement. New employees shall be notified in writing that it is the individual employee's responsibility to have transcripts, degrees, and written verification of experience sent to the District for appropriate salary schedule placement. Any objection to salary schedule placement by the District must be made prior to the beginning of the second semester of employment. Objections filed subsequently to said period shall be addressed in the ensuing academic year. Those units which the granting institution designates in writing to be graduate units shall be accepted. Unit members who are hired effective subsequent to the date of signing of this Agreement shall be given credit of one (1) step for: 3.2.8.1 Each year of full-time experience, or equivalent, which required a credential prior to 7/1/90. 3.2.8.2 Each year of full-time instructional experience, or equivalent, which was performed after meeting the minimum hiring qualifications for teaching in a California community college after 7/1/90. 3.2.8.3 Each year of full-time experience, or equivalent, which would have required a credential if performed at Rio Hondo Community College prior to 7/1/90, even if such experience did not require a credential where performed. 3.2.8.4 Each three (3) years of full-time related occupational experience is equal to one (1) step on the salary schedule. Unit members may be placed no higher than Step 8 on the salary schedule. Exceptions to exceed the maximum placements above shall be at the discretion of the District.

Salary Schedule Placement Procedures. 1. The basic certificated salary schedule consists of four (IV) ranges: a. Range I requires a B.A. and has 11 annual increments. b. Range II requires a B.A. or an M.A. and has 12 annual increments. c. Range III requires a B.A. plus 45 semester hours of upper division or graduate work beyond the date of the B.A., and has 14 annual increments. d. Range IV requires a B.A. plus 60 semester hours of upper division or graduate work including an M.A. and/or an earned doctorate and has 15 annual increments. Unit members who have acquired an M.D., X.X., or D.D.S., degree without having acquired an M.A. degree in the course of said acquisition, shall nevertheless be allowed to move to the 4th column on the salary schedule and paid at the appropriate salary. A 5% increase is added for employees who have earned an M.A. and an earned doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) or who have acquired an M.D., X.X., or D.D.S. degree without having acquired an M.A. degree in the course of said acquisition and who subsequently earns an M.A. degree in education from an institution that is recognized by the American Council on Education in their publication, Accredited Institutions of Post- Secondary Education, or by the University of California. Said stipend shall be effective July 1, 2004, and shall be paid on a current (as opposed to retroactive) basis.

The bidder with the highest bid shall be declared as successful bidder upon the fall of hammer. 4.13. The decision of the Auctioneer shall be final and binding on all on-site and/or E-bidders. 4.14. A successful bidder will be directed to a page where further directions are given in order to conclude the sale of the auction property. Please also refer to Part 5 below. 4.15. Unsuccessful E-Bidders will have the deposit paid processed to be refunded to the same bank account from which the deposit transfer was made within three (3) working days. 4.16. BHD. website regarding the public auction, particularly to the calling of bidding price during the bidding process and the declaration of successful bidder shall be final and conclusive.
