Scheduling of Vacation Leave With Pay. (a) Employees are expected to take all their vacation leave during the vacation year in which it is earned. An employee shall advise the Employer of any vacation request projections as soon as possible after January but before May Every effort shall be made to ensure that every employee who so requests shall be allowed to take two (2) consecutive weeks of vacation during the July August period. Subject to operational requirements the Employer may schedule the employees vacation leave with pay on any other basis than that specified in clause above if the employee gives the Employer at least five (5) days advance written notice for requests of vacation leave with pay of five (5) days or less. Subject to operational requirements the Employer shall make every reasonable' effort to schedule an employee's vacation leave in the vacation year in which it is earned and in a manner acceptable to the employee. If an employee requests vacation leave with pay in accordance with clause and the Employer denies the request due to operational requirements, the Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to comply with any subsequent request made by the employee for vacation leave. The Employer shall give the employee as much notice in writing as is practicable and reasonable of approval, disapproval or cancellation of a request for vacation leave. In the case of disapproval, alteration or cancellation of such leave, the Employer shall give the written reasons therefore, upon request from the employee.
