School Activities Leave. Regular Sick Leave may be used by an employee who is a parent or guardian to attend child-related activities of the school or licensed child care provider to a maximum of eight hours per month/40 hours per year (Labor Code §230.8). If the employee does not have sufficient Personal Necessity Leave available, the time off shall be without pay.
