School Closing. In the event school is closed for students due to inclement weather or other emergency causes, teachers shall not be required to report for duty, and the day of instruction shall be rescheduled as provided herein. Teachers shall not receive additional compensation, including but not limited to additional salary or paid leave days, for rescheduled days of instruction. 1. 2. Teachers that are assigned to work at Oxford Virtual Academy (OVA) recognize that OVA continues instruction when seated instruction might be cancelled due to inclement weather. If a teacher is assigned to work at OVA on a day that is cancelled for seated buildings, the teacher will still be expected to fulfill any previous OVA work that was scheduled. In the event that the district is required to make up days of instruction that results in a teacher working beyond their contractual day requirement, that additional time will be paid at the teacher’s per diem rate.
3. If teachers are absent as the result of illness or approved personal business on a day school is closed as a result of inclement weather or other emergency causes, sick leave days will not be deducted if the cancelled day is to be rescheduled later in the school year. If such absences occur on a cancelled day which is not to be rescheduled, sick leave days will be deducted only if the absence is a continuation of a series of one or more absences for which such deductions would normally be made.

School Closing. 1. In the event school is closed for students due a full day, the school board will have the authority to inclement weather or other emergency causesdetermine if, how, and when such time will be made up. If make-up time is required by the Board but is not completed by the teacher, the teachers’ compensation shall be reduced accordingly. Teachers may use accumulative leave time to make up for any hours lost under this section. In the event a teacher does not have accumulative leave time available, the teacher will receive a pay deduction for the hours lost.
2. In the event of a late start, teachers shall not be required are expected to report for duty, and at the day of instruction shall be rescheduled as provided hereinregular time or when conditions permit. Teachers shall not may report up to two hours later than their regular report time as needed to accommodate safety or child-care concerns without accumulative leave or pay deduction. Teachers who report after the two- hour late start time will receive additional compensation, including but not limited to additional salary the appropriate accumulative leave or paid leave days, pay deduction for rescheduled days of instructiontime missed.
13. Any days that schools are If a late start turns into a cancelled day, teachers who reported to work will be paid hourly for two hours.
4. If school closes early, teachers can leave as soon as student dismissal is complete. This will be considered a full day worked.
5. If school is closed for students due to inclement weather or other emergency causes, which and teachers are not required to report to work:
a) Teachers who attend a previously approved off-site workshop or training on a day that District 742 schools are closed will be rescheduled by statute or appropriate governmental agency and paid the hourly rate for that time, but make-up requirements for those teachers for that day will still apply.
b) Teachers who had an approved accumulative leave absence scheduled for a day during which do not result in a loss of state aid funding to the school district, shall not be made up or rescheduled. If, due to a statutory change or modification, the school district can count days school is closed for students due to inclement weather or other emergency causes as days of pupil instruction for state aid purposes, and/or if the district is not required to make up days of student instruction without a loss of state funding, teachers shall will not be required charged with that day.
c) Part-time teachers who are not scheduled to make up days work on a day school is closed will not be subject to the make-up provisions of that day.
6. In the event any salaried teacher is unable to report for students duty as a result of inclement weather or other emergency causes and shall not lose pay impassable roads or paid leave. After 30 hours of cancelled school due to inclement weather or other emergency causes, the OEA and superintendent or designee will determine whether to make-up the time through additional student days/hours or professional development days/hours, as permitted by law.
2. If teachers are absent as the result of illness or approved personal business on a day school is closed as a result of inclement weather other similar conditions when attendance is required, the teacher will receive the appropriate accumulative leave or other emergency causes, sick leave days will not be deducted if the cancelled day is to be rescheduled later in the school year. If such absences occur on a cancelled day which is not to be rescheduled, sick leave days will be deducted only if the absence is a continuation of a series of one or more absences for which such deductions would normally be madepay deduction.
37. If cancelled Scheduled make-up days of instruction are approved by the School Board can be required to be rescheduled, any recess periods in the calendar excepting legal holidays may be modified upon mutual agreement between the Board and the Association.
