Section 20.01 - Mutual Responsibility. It shall be the policy of the Employer to provide for the safety of its employees by providing safe working conditions, safe work areas and safe work methods. Employees shall have the responsibility to use all provided safety equipment and procedures in their daily work, shall cooperate in all safety and accident prevention programs, and shall diligently observe all safety rules promulgated by the Employer. Upon the request of either Party, but not more frequently than once each calendar month, the Union and the Employer shall meet and confer relative to health and safety matters.

Section 20.01 - Mutual Responsibility. ‌ It shall be the policy of the Employer to provide for the safety of its employees by providing safe working conditions, safe work areas and safe work methods. Employees shall have the responsibility to use all provided safety equipment and procedures in their daily work, shall cooperate in all safety and accident prevention programs, and shall diligently observe all safety rules promulgated by the Employer. The Employer and the Union recognize that it is in the best interest of both the Parties to ensure the safety and well-being of Minneapolis employees by minimizing exposure to dangerous working conditions and protecting them from threats of workplace violence. It is understood that health and safety protections are the mutual responsibility of both the Employer and its employees. The Employer may consult with employees to identify all hazards, assess risks, and establish preventive control measures. The Employer will ensure employees have appropriate PPE to perform their duties. Employees may request additional PPE from their supervisor. When performing high risk activities; or at any time when an employee recognizes potentially dangerous working conditions could adversely impact the health and safety of their coworkers, members of the public, or themselves; employees shall temporarily suspend work and remove themselves from the imminent threat; and then they shall contact their Xxxxxxx/Supervisor immediately to determine next steps.
