Section 8.1.1.1 employees hired under this Section shall gain seniority as of the day they began 44 their assignment. Employees completing their assignment shall be allowed to exercise seniority 45 rights as a regular employee. In the event that no opening is available at that time, they will be 46 placed on layoff status as provided herein.
Section 8.1.1.1. 41 Beginning September 1, 2020 all less than full time employees shall receive Labor Day 42 as a paid holiday.
Section 8.1.1.1. Up to five (5) work days' absence, per occurrence, from work will be allowed for bereavement.
Section 8.1.1.1. 14 The returning employee will not necessarily be assigned to the identical position occupied before 15 the leave of absence. However, if the position remains substantially unchanged, the employee will 16 be returned to the identical position. In the event the previously held position is substantially 17 eliminated, the employee shall be reinstated to a position equivalent in duties and salary to that 18 held at the time the request for leave of absence was approved, consistent with seniority herein.
Section 8.1.1.1. 30 The District agrees to allow employees to take Family Leave pursuant to District policy 31 and in compliance with federal law and state law. 33 In accordance with Washington State law, sick leave may be used to care for a child of 34 the employee with a health condition that requires treatment or supervision or for a 35 spouse, parent, parent-in-law, or grandparent of the employee who has a serious health 36 condition or an emergency condition in accordance with state or federal law. The 37 parties agree that the provision(s) in law which most benefits the employee shall be 38 available to the employee. Such leave may be utilized up to the limit of accumulated 39 sick leave days. Under the Family and Medical Leave Act provisions, the District may 40 require appropriate medical certification. For this section the following definitions shall 41 apply consistent with Washington State law. 43 For purposes of this section, “family member” means any of the following: (a) A child, including a biological, adopted, or xxxxxx child, xxxxxxxxx, or a child to 45 whom the employee stands in loco parentis, is a legal guardian, or is a de facto 46 parent, regardless of age or dependency status; 1 (b) A biological, adoptive, de facto, or xxxxxx parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of an 2 employee or the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, or a person who 3 stood in loco parentis when the employee was a minor child; 5 (c) A spouse; 7 (d) A registered or domestic partner; 9 (e) A grandparent; 11 (f) A grandchild; or 13 (g) A sibling 15 (h) Parent in Law
Section 8.1.1.1. 44 The Transportation Department will put runs into routes based upon expected task completion 45 times. Fueling, interior cleanup, pre-trip and post-trip inspections will be included in the route 46 time. The District may not require employees to accumulate unusable pieces of paid lay over 47 time. If additional time is needed for fueling and cleaning activities, it may be added to the route 48 time.
