Paid Holiday means: (a) in the case of a shift that does not commence and end in the same day, the twenty-four
Paid Holiday means holiday with pay for the period thereof;
Paid Holiday means any day on which an employee is entitled to a paid holiday by virtue of clause 12 - Leave.

Examples of Paid Holiday in a sentence

  • Employees whose regular day off falls on the day the Paid Holiday is celebrated, will be entitled to the day's pay at the rate of straight time for that day.

More Definitions of Paid Holiday

Paid Holiday means a day off with pay or, if in the opinion of the Department Manager this is not practicable in the operation of the department, monetary compensation in lieu of a day off with pay. The reduction of work shall occur on the holiday itself, or within the calendar week including the holiday. Firefighters and Police Officers shall receive monetary compensation for holidays at the rate of one-twentieth of one month's salary for each holiday, whether the holiday is worked or not. To receive holiday pay, employees must work both the last full scheduled workday before and after the holiday unless the employee’s absence is approved in advance upon submission of a leave request form, or the employee submits a valid physician’s statement evidencing his/her inability to work on that day.

  • Bank Holiday means any day that is specified or proclaimed as a bank holiday, pursuant to section 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971;

  • Legal Holiday means a Saturday, a Sunday or a day on which banking institutions in the City of New York or at a place of payment are authorized by law, regulation or executive order to remain closed. If a payment date is a Legal Holiday at a place of payment, payment may be made at that place on the next succeeding day that is not a Legal Holiday, and no interest shall accrue on such payment for the intervening period.

  • General Holiday means every Sunday and any other day which is a

  • public holiday means any day other than Saturday or Sunday on which the banks in the City of London are not open for business;
