Common use of Section 9.8 Clause in Contracts

Section 9.8. 26 Employees who change job classifications within the bargaining unit shall retain their hire date in the 27 previous classification for a period of five (5) years, notwithstanding that they have acquired a new 28 hire date in a different classification, either hire date shall be lost as stated in Section 9.4, and the 29 former hire date may not be utilized unless the employee has been subject to a reduction in force in 30 his/her current classification.
