Security Deposit Refunds. All refunds are delivered through the Resident’s SHSU account. Resident hereby agrees that all security deposit refunds to the Resident will be applied to any outstanding debt to the University as follows: 1) first, to housing debts, 2) next to past due accounts and future installment payments, 3) then to any other debt owed to the University and 4) finally the Resident shall be refunded the amount in excess of a debt owed to the University in accordance with the refund policy and procedures established by the Bursar Office of the University.

Security Deposit Refunds. Landlord shall return the security deposit to a single person designated by lessees to receive the security deposit. In the absence of a person designated by lessees to receive the deposit landlord shall return the security deposit to a lessee or lessees of his choosing. Snow Ice Rubbish Obstructions – Landlords contractor will clear city sidewalks as required by City of East Lansing ordinance#1326. The cost of clearing will be billed to the tenants and paid for by lessee. Cost of service varies from $15-$20 per clearing. Should salt or ice melt be required on the sidewalk that service will be billed at an additional $10 per occurrence. All unpaid sidewalk related bills are deemed to be additional rent hereunder due from Tenant to Landlord. Security Deposit Refunds. The balance of all security deposits, including all accrued interest, shall be refunded within THIRTY DAYS (30) from the expiration of this AGREEMENT or the date possession is delivered back (whichever is later) to the LESSOR, together with a statement showing any charges made against such deposits by LESSOR.

Security Deposit Refunds. Housing applicants, who have not previously lived in the dorm, sign a housing contract, and make the decision to no longer pursue housing prior to the start of a semester will forfeit $50 of his or her security deposit. Students who have lived in the dormitory and been granted release from his or her housing contract who fail to properly check- out of housing by their designated check- out date and time will forfeit his or her entire security deposit, unless the student has been given an extension by the Director of Residential Life and properly checks- out according to the terms of the extension. Exceptions in which security deposits will be refunded include: A) The student has lived in the dormitory, is granted release from his or her housing contract, properly checks- out of the dormitory according to the check- out procedures section of this contract, and does not intend to sign a future housing contract.
