SENIORITY AND LAYOFF. 15.01 The following procedure shall govern layoff of employees if the Board determines to reduce the number of classified positions. 15.02 District seniority is defined as an employee's uninterrupted length of continuous service as a regular employee of the Board. Board-approved leaves do not constitute an interruption in length of service. In implementing layoff, the concept of seniority shall be a factor. A. In case of identical seniority of two (2) employees, the tie shall be broken by the steps taken in order: 1. Date the employee starts work with the Board; 2.
