Settlement of Employee Grievances. The Association and the Board recognize their responsibility for the prompt and orderly disposition of grievances that arise out of the interpretation, application, or alleged breach of any of the provisions of this agreement. To this end, the parties agree that the provisions of this article shall provide the means of settlement of all such grievances provided, however, that nothing herein will be construed as limiting the right of any employee to have a complaint adjusted without the intervention of the Association so long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of this agreement.

The Board and Association agree to attempt to settle all grievances at the lowest possible level. To this end, the parties agree that the provisions of this article shall provide the means of settlement of all such grievances, provided, however, that nothing herein will be construed as limiting the right of any employee to have a complaint adjusted without the intervention of the Association so long as the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of the agreement. The employee shall discuss his or her grievance with his or her immediate supervisor and if the problem cannot be resolved at this level, the grievance shall be processed in the following steps:

All Unit II employees shall have the right of Association representation at each step of the grievance procedure when requested by them.

  • Employee Grievances 3.2(a) Grievances on behalf of employees shall be handled as follows:

  • Employee Grievance If an employee considers there has been a significant change to the job content of the position held, the employee may initiate a grievance by using Step 1 of the Grievance Procedure. If the issue is not resolved at this step, the Job Classification Review Procedure of Article 22.02(B) above shall be utilized.

Any action or behavior which reflects discredit upon the City or is a direct hindrance to the effective performance of the City's municipal governmental and proprietary functions may be considered good cause for disciplinary action against an employee and such actions or behavior which may be considered good cause for disciplinary action shall include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Engagement of Employees 8.1.1 All prospective Employees may be required to complete an Application for Employment form prior to engagement. Applicants may be required to undertake a pre-employment physical/medical assessment, the cost of which will be borne by the Company. Notices of layoff shall be served on employees personally at work whenever practicable.

  • Policy Grievance – Employer Grievance The Employer may institute a grievance alleging a general misinterpretation or violation by the Union or any employee by filing a written grievance with the Bargaining Unit President, with a copy to the Labour Relations Officer within twenty (20) days after the circumstances have occurred. A meeting will be held between the parties within ten (10) days. The Union shall reply within ten (10) days after the meeting, and failing settlement, the matter may be referred to arbitration.
