Common use of Shift Differential Pay Clause in Contracts

Shift Differential Pay. A. An employee shall receive additional compensation at the rate of seventy five cents (75¢) per hour for all hours worked on a shift when the majority of hours worked on the shift are between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. and in locations where these classes are regularly assigned shift work. B. In lieu of compensation set forth in paragraph A above, employees shall receive additional compensation at the rate of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for all hours worked on a shift when the majority of hours worked on the shift are between 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m. and in locations where these classes are regularly assigned shift work. C. Notwithstanding A and B above, in a situation where an employee works a shift evenly divided before and after 12:00 midnight, the employee shall receive additional compensation in the amount of seventy-five (75¢) per hour for one-half the hours worked on the shift, and one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) for one-half the hours worked on the shift.
